Small Business and Work Opportunity Tax Act of 2007

Congress passed The Small Business and Work Opportunity Tax Act of 2007 (“The Act”) on May 24th. President Bush immediately signed the legislation, which was part of a larger Congressional bill, The U.S. Troop Readiness and Veterans Care, Katrina Recovery, and Iraq Accountability Appropriations Act of 2007. The Act included nearly $5 billion in tax incentives, an increase in the minimum wage, and several technical corrections to pension legislation.
