Recruiting is an important part of my professional and personal success. Obviously from the professional side, as an accounting firm, we rely on our people to provide quality services for our clients. One could look at public accounting as pyramid scheme. We want the best and the brightest people providing those services, everyone relying on each other for continued success. But on the personal side, I have a passion for public accounting and for people. I want to see people succeed at what they enjoy in life. I always share with interns that my goal for their internship is to help provide them a valuable experience so that they can decide what they want to do professionally in life. If it turns out they want to work at Dixon Hughes, then great, hopefully it will work out; however, if they would like to try something else, I offer to help them anyway I can. As an active recruiter for Dixon Hughes, I strive to build meaningful relationships with recruits as a mentor regardless of the employment outcome.
