Atmosphere
I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for the internship with Dixon Hughes. I got exposure to individual tax, business tax, audit, and business information--helping me better appreciate the services that Dixon Hughes offers.

The people at Dixon Hughes were second to none. From the member level to the associate level, I was impressed with the attitudes of each individual. Employees were helpful, answered my questions, gave direction, and patiently provided training. The work atmosphere created by the firm’s values and great employees produced an environment that was positive, effective, and cohesive.

Insight
When I was asked what I liked and disliked about the internship program, I couldn’t think of anything I didn’t like! The program structure allowed us to rotate through the different departments in the firm. And I got experience and insight into areas of the firm that I might have never considered, otherwise.

I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to work at Dixon Hughes this summer. I had a wonderful time and feel it was a very valuable learning experience!

Personal Success
Recruiting  is an important part of my professional and personal success. Obviously from  the professional side, as an accounting firm, we rely on our people to provide  quality services for our clients. One could look at public accounting as  pyramid scheme. We want the best and the brightest people providing those  services, everyone relying on each other for continued success.  But on  the personal side, I have a passion for public accounting and for people. I  want to see people succeed at what they enjoy in life. I always share with  interns that my goal for their internship is to help provide them a valuable  experience so that they can decide what they want to do professionally in  life. If it turns out they want to work at Dixon Hughes, then great, hopefully  it will work out; however, if they would like to try something else, I offer  to help them anyway I can. As an active recruiter for Dixon Hughes, I strive  to build meaningful relationships with recruits as a mentor regardless of the  employment outcome.

Challenge
Working at a regional firm like Dixon Hughes puts you in a unique position. You get the experience, exposure, and challenges that you would get if working at a big four firm but at the same time you get the camaraderie and family atmosphere of working at a smaller firm.  You really get the best of both worlds.

Also at Dixon Hughes, you’re a name and not a number.  The Firm makes great efforts to attract and retain the best employees throughout their career by providing them with challenges and the ability to grow while at the same time providing them with the necessary work/life balance.  At Dixon Hughes, the leadership really cares about the well being of every employee.

People
People, People, People; I can’t say it enough.  The people are what make Dixon Hughes great!  From day one, I have felt like a member of the team.  I was amazed how quickly I befriended my fellow coworkers.  You start to get a feeling that you are friends first and then coworkers.

The small things matter to Dixon Hughes.  From the firm outings to the massages, you always feel appreciated.  Dixon Hughes never stops recruiting you, even after you are employed here.  You don’t know what you are missing until you work at Dixon Hughes, there is no comparison.

Caring
I chose Dixon Hughes because of the people.  It may seem like a cliché, but it really is true.  When I went through recruiting, I was really confused about which firm I should intern with and eventually work for.  Every one of them seemed to offered similar benefits and opportunities, but the people was where they differed.  The Dixon Hughes staff that I met really impressed me with their positive attitudes and friendliness.  Everyone truly cares about each other at this firm.  There is so much trust and respect all around, even for the interns.  I knew immediately that I had found a place where I could begin my career without getting lost in the crowd.  I just finished my second internship, and I can’t wait to finally start full-time next year.

First Impression
I first got introduced to Dixon Hughes (at the time we were Crisp Hughes Evans) when I was looking for a summer internship during my senior year in college.  I knew I wanted to do public accounting, but I couldn’t decide between a national and regional firm.  I liked the idea of working in a big city but didn’t want to feel lost in a larger-sized office.  DH ended up being the perfect fit for me.

My first impression of the firm ended up being the people I talked to that day at the career fair.  What I learned that summer during my internship and continue to be reminded of on a daily basis is that the people within a firm truly define what kind of firm it is and what it represents.  The leaders of this firm set an example to all that honesty, integrity, respect, and professionalism are most important.  The firm also stresses the importance of family which is truly what is most important in my life.  Although we continue to grow in size, the firm has not lost sight of its roots and what is most important – the people.

Opportunity
Dixon Hughes' recruiting is key to our continued success.  The firm is founded by brilliant, hard working, and interesting members that set a positive tone at the top. This translates into the type of candidates we look for in our firm; those that are bright, dedicated, and well rounded including activities outside of work.  We establish a professional atmosphere that engages client's with talented individuals focused on team success.  I chose, and continue to choose, Dixon Hughes for the opportunities in numerous growing industries (SEC, hospitality, banking, and IT to name a few.), the quality and purposeful training, being part of a team that also notices and rewards individual performance, and of course the culture.

Now is a great time to be with DH!

Friendly
Dixon Hughes is small enough that you can get to know everyone. I have become great friends with everyone at Dixon Hughes which is important because we spend so much time together. I have had personal interaction with all levels of Dixon Hughes employees from Seniors to Managers to Members as well as client personnel such as CFOs right from the start.

At the same time, Dixon Hughes is big enough to offer all of the resources that I want. I have had the opportunity to work at a great variety of clients in many different industries. I also have access to the latest technology and the best training opportunities. I learn something new every day.

Family
To me, Dixon Hughes is the people that work here.  It was so amazing that when I started this new job, in a new city, Dixon Hughes gave me a family of friends in my co-workers.  I strongly feel that happiness at the workplace has a lot to do with the people surrounding you.  Dixon Hughes works hard in our recruiting process to make sure the individuals surrounding the firm are not only talented and hard working, but also great people.

One-of-a-kind
I remember recruiting as a very anxious time in my college career. I was excited to meet all of the firms but I was also very nervous because the whole process was so new to me. When I was first introduced to Dixon Hughes, the people I met really put my nerves at ease. It was so easy to talk to them and they made me feel so welcome. I remember it didn’t even feel like I was being “recruited” because it was just like I was talking to a group of friends.  I knew after the first meeting with Dixon Hughes that it was the firm for me.

After a year-and-a-half of working at Dixon Hughes, I could not be happier. The people that I interact with and get to work with everyday are so amazing and outgoing. Dixon Hughes cares for its employees in ways that go beyond the office, and it is very clear that it values me and my life outside of the office. I feel confident that the culture we have here at Dixon Hughes is one-of-a-kind, and I feel lucky to have found the right fit for me.

Teamwork
Why Dixon Hughes...

I have worked for all sizes of public accounting firms (Big 4, regional
and local).  Dixon Hughes, as a super-regional, provides the best of all
worlds: high quality, technically challenging clients; excellent
training and career growth opportunities; appropriate work/life balance; and the feeling that you are a part of a strong team, not just a number in the system.

Experience
I joined Dixon Hughes three years ago right out of school. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work with dozens of companies in various industries. Dixon Hughes has allowed me to narrow my focus on a few industries and I feel that I have a competitive advantage against many peers with the wide range of experience I have received. Our firm focuses on getting new young professionals who will grow with the firm and the clients and be a contributing factor to the success of the firm. I feel that our firm goes the extra mile in the recruiting process for students. The attention and functions our interns and new professionals receive provide for a fun environment while you adjust and learn about public accounting. I would highly recommend that you take advantage of all opportunities to participate.

Recruiting
Dixon Hughes is a great place to work because of the people, and my job is so much easier because everyone puts recruiting so high on their list.  All of the partners place such a big emphasis on recruiting and the internship program, and that attitude has definitely transferred to many of the staff.  We do so much in our office to make sure that our interns have a great experience while they are here, and it pays off when they decide to come work for us full time! Our interns really seem to enjoy our weekly activities in the summer and the variety of tax and audit work that they are able to get while they are here.  Everyone in the Atlanta office really gets along well and works as a team.  One of our interns this summer actually told me that he kept waiting for people to stop being so nice and reality to set in, but that never happened because of the quality people that work in our office.  Dixon Hughes really does offer a family style atmosphere, and it really is a great team to be a part of!
