In addition to providing traditional services in the areas of accounting, auditing, and tax, the Firm offers a complete line of services designed to enhance operational efficiencies and improve bottom lines, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, corporate governance consulting, business valuation and litigation support, business succession and continuation planning, fraud and forensics consulting, corporate finance, financial planning, employee benefits design and administration and technology consulting. Due to continued growth, Dixon Hughes PLLC is currently seeking a Manager/Senior Manager for our Morgantown, WV office. This position could also be located in Charleston, WV.



Job Description: Senior managers are professionals with initiative, dedication and ambition to serve the growing practice. They develop and manage key client relationships to generate business growth. They are role models for all employees by emulating the values of the firm through word and deed. The senior managers help guide staff personnel in enhancing their careers and lives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

••Maintain and achieve high quality in their work, client relations and team relations and assure that members of their team achieve the same.
••Understand and demonstrate the qualities identified in the firm’s Code of Conduct and actively promote others to do the same.
••Know and understand the firm’s policies and procedures while motivating others to do the same.
••Comply with professional standards and ethics.
••Provided technical and managerial leadership.
••Provide overall leadership, supervision, training, and performance feedback to staff.
••Actively market and cross-sell the various other services provided by the firm.
••Seek and implement innovative approaches/solutions, while actively stimulating innovative thinking among others.
••Review work of managers, seniors and staff to ensure that a quality “product” is consistently delivered within established deadlines.
••Monitor and/or enhance client service through quality, efficiency, identification and delivery of value-added services, and overall excellent client relations.
••Participate in regular management meetings, assuming leadership for taskforces and/or special projects as needed.
••Work closely with directors, partners, principals and other senior managers in actively leading the practice group or office and monitoring group performance goals, including chargeable hours, growth, profitability, and innovation.
••Record time daily.
••Continue networking within the community.

BENCHMARKS FOR EVALUATION

••Consistently demonstrate high quality in work and relationships.
••Consistently meet established deadlines, ensuring that work is complete and accurate and adequate time has been provided for review process.
••Consistently demonstrate and reinforce the values of our firm as identified in our Code of Conduct.
••Meet chargeable hour budget and achieve personal realization goals.
••Ensure department maintains realization goals or better and chargeable hour budgets are met.
••Generate new business during the year; manage and retain current business.
••Provide timely training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff.
••Complete performance evaluations on time.
••Appropriately communicate with co-workers to ensure that needed information is shared, deadlines and modified deadlines are communicated, and that they have information they need to complete their work and meet respective deadlines.
••Fully comply with professional standards and regulation for industry.
••Complete at least 40 hours of CPE per year, with at least 12-16 hours being in leadership related skill development.
••Network with others in industry, prospective referral sources, and/or prospective clients by activities such as joining a trade or profession association and participating in a leadership capacity.
••Participate in management meetings, demonstrating active leadership and initiative.
••Complete billing on time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

••Job involves work in the firm’s office or on the client’s premises. Work on the client’s premises may require the use of personal car.
••Some overtime may be required throughout the year. High level of overtime may be required during busy season.


Requirements: ••Prefer 5 to 10 years of public accounting experience, but candidates MUST have CPA firm experience of at least four years.
••Industry concentrations we prefer are healthcare, non-profit and financial services, but any public accounting auditing experience will be considered.
Senior managers normally have a minimum of three years’ experience as a manager (or equivalent experience as deemed appropriate by the partners).
